Children’s Ministry

jesusChildren’s Church at Shawnee Trail is an exciting time of worship offered during the sermon for kids ages three to Kindergarten. Our goal is to give preschoolers an age-appropriate way to worship and learn more about God’s love and His Word! Our volunteers use puppets, singing, skits, memory verses, games, videos and object lessons to teach Biblical truths that echo the mission of “big” church. New friends are always welcome! At Shawnee Trail children are a priority. On Sundays after our worship service, we hold Bible classes with a curriculum geared toward each age group. These classes serve to spiritually nourish and instruct our students. We are living out Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Start children in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Sunday Bible classes help lay the foundation for our children use as they to their faith. Jesus instructed his disciples in Mark 10:14 to not hinder the children from coming to him because the Kingdom of God belonged to those like them. At Shawnee Trail we encourage our children to seek and embrace Jesus, and we are there to joyfully guide them on their journey. Outside of Bible classes and Children’s Church, we have special activities for our kids and families to participate in and get to know each other! Each quarter we host an event that is open to all ages of our children’s ministry. From vacation Bible school and Easter egg hunts to bouncing together at Urban Air, there is a way for all of our students to get together and have fun.

Youth Group

The goal of the Shawnee Trail Youth Group is to help students build a relationship with God, strengthen their relationship with one another, and to serve the community. The Youth Group meets on Sundays for a Bible study where students learn about God’s commands, and discover His will and purpose for each of us. Wednesday nights the Youth Groups meets at 7pm for Bible study and discussion about topics that affect students in their daily lives. Once a month they meet at someone’s home for a time of singing and worship. They also meet once a month for activities like sporting events or picnics at the park. And of course the summers are always full of activities in the Frisco/Dallas area, across the country, and even overseas.
